In its simplest and most common usage, a fetish is an erotic fascination from something which may not, on the surface, seem erotic to other people. People may have fetishes for literally any object or any part of another person's body. Feet are often the object of a body party fetish, as are, naturally, women's breasts.

The variety of fetishes is virtually limitless and so are the degrees. At one extreme are fetishists who cannot achieve orgasm unless their fetish object is present. At the other are the vast majority of adults who may enjoy the smell of leather or get turned on if their partner dons sexy footwear, or lingerie or something made of rubber, but who could just as easily do without the extra stimulation.
